The Plymouth, Devonport and South West Junction Railway was a small company that was absorbed into the LSWR in 1922 and thus subsequently into the Southern Railway at the Grouping a few months later. It had three locos, designed and built by Hawthorn Leslie, an 0-6-0T and two 0-6-2Ts. These became Nos 756 and Nos 757/758 respectively under the SR. The latter two entered BR service becoming Nos 30757 and 30758, but the smaller loco never received its assigned BR number 30756 before it was withdrawn in 1951, while the other two lasted until 1956/1957.
